Drawing inspiration from the rich abundance of beautiful Fado music and folk tunes that the Iberian Peninsula has to offer, Alma Orquestra will take you on a soulful journey from traditional to modern Portuguese song.

Since their first performance together at the Bairro Portuguese earlier this year Alma Orquestra have repeatedly wowed audiences with their breathtaking original compositions and their lively and unique interpretations of the music of the Lusophones. This spectacular five piece ensemble features Sydney’s renowned and stunning songstress Mandie Viera Santos alongside acclaimed fellow Portuguese-Australian Loretta Palmeiro (saxophone/clarinet/flute), and a stellar rhythm section in guitarist Richard Ashby (Spyglass Gypsies) bassist Brendan Clarke and drummer Mike Quigley.
