Two of our own world class jazz artists meet once again on the Foundry616 stage as award-winning vocalist Kristin Berardi takes to the Foundry616 stage once more, with a stellar band featuring legendary pianist Mike Nock.
“Flawless musicality” is how the combination of singer Kristin Berardi with pianist Mike Nock was described in the Sydney Morning Herald.
Kristin’s Where Or When won Best Australian Jazz Vocal album at the 2016 Bell Awards, while Mike’s Beginning And End Of Knowing was awarded Best Produced Album.
Kristin Berardi made National headlines when she won the Montreux Jazz Festival’s International Vocal Competition in 2006 and since then she has had many opportunities to showcase her stunning voice in both live settings and recordings.
Internationally acclaimed pianist Mike Nock’s reputation rests on his 25 years working in the USA with musicians such as Coleman Hawkins, Yusef Lateef, Dionne Warwick and Michael Brecker. He is also a powerful bandleader and composer who has a large catalogue of critically acclaimed, internationally released recordings, and a substantial body of original compositions in print and on recordings.
Kristin Berardi’s warm beautiful tone, extensive jazz vocabulary, pop appeal and magical stage presence create the perfect partnership with the Australian Jazz Hall of Fame inductee and one of jazzdom’s most expansive minds, pianist and composer Mike Nock. A bonafide Australian music legend and Bell Awards Hall of Famer, Nock remains a vital force on the Australasian music scene.
It is a rare treat to experience Mike Nock’s mastery alongside such a special voice as Kristin Berardi’s, especially in such an intimate setting. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Mike joined by fellow Bell award winner Kristin Berardi – described by John Shand (Sydney Morning Herald) as “probably the finest jazz singer Australia has produced”.
The current Mike Nock Trio features bassist Ben Waples and drummer James Waples, two extraordinarily talented musicians, both of whom are recognised as among Australia’s elite young creative musicians.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see Mike joined by fellow Bell award winner Kristin Berardi – described by John Shand (Sydney Morning Herald) as “probably the finest jazz singer Australia has produced”. Come and enjoy a night of contemporary Australian jazz at it’s very best.
“Nothing could disguise Berardi’s ego-free creativity, musicianship and endearing vulnerability.”
Sydney Morning Herald
“Mike Nock: a maestro… strong arrangements, a mix of groove/dissonance and lyricism/avant-out, and a fair amount of humor and surprise inherent in the twists and turns”. Downbeat USA
