Louis Stapleton "Mirrors" CD Launch

Beside being a great pianist and composer, Louis Stapleton is a wonderful storyteller. With “Mirrors” he takes us for a ride after which we feel like having been on an exciting adventure! Come with us as we take you on a musical journey and bring you a suite of new music in this exciting lineup featuring some of Sydney’s best jazz musicians.

After studying tertiary music and Jazz Piano in Weimar and then Cologne in Germany, Louis is now based in Sydney, performing and composing across a range of formats and genres such as jazz, funk, pop and electronic music.

In 2013 the Louis Stapleton trio won the Sparda Jazz Award and headlined the final night of the Dusseldorfer Jazz Rally. That same year his trio also won the Young Munich Jazz prize.This special evening at Foundry will treat you to an array of music he composed during his time in Germany and some more recent compositions. The CD “Mirrors” was recorded in Cologne Germany and features some of Germany’s finest young players all of whom are band leaders in their own right. It spans an array of colours and emotions and acts as a musical journal of Louis’ studies and personal growth in Germany, both spiritually and musically.

On the evening you’ll be able to purchase hard-copies of the album and all digital purchases made prior will be released on Bandcamp.
