Sandie White and John Stuart @ Hotel Blue

It’s the long weekend, so you need to relax and do something a little special . . . Music in the Mountains will deliver that in spades this June Long Weekend – Sandie White & John Stuart.

Sandie White is Australian jazz royalty. From 1955 to the 80’s worked all over Europe and Australia. In 1986 she shared the inaugural Jazz vocalist of the year award and 1987 saw her opening “Upstairs” at Ronnie Scotts in London with the Harry South Trio. Sandie White is the real deal ladies and gentlemen -she has played alongside jazz giants like Lionel Hampton, Zoot Sims and Oscar Pettiford. She is one of the last true ‘mistresses of jazz’ – she has done it, seen it, been there before. Sandie White IS jazz!

John Stuart is one of the musicians that started live music at Hotel Blue and is a jazz guitar master. You won’t necessarily know his name unless you’re in the industry as John isn’t performing to be the centre of attention – John is all about the music. John plays alongside some of Australia’s top names in jazz every week and relishes the opportunity to make incredible music. There’s no ego in this’ jazz cat’ – its all about the music!
