DIVERGENCE JAZZ ORCHESTRA FEATURING MIROSLAV BUKOVSKY (9pm)

Led by Jenna Cave (conductor/composer) and Paul Weber (trombone), the Divergence Jazz Orchestra comprises 19 of Sydney’s most accomplished young musicians. Their sound brings the spirit and tradition of improvised jazz music to the 21st century big band. Divergence performs music by Jenna Cave and band members, while also featuring music by other Australian composers.
Miroslav Bukovsky will perform his own new compositions, reimagined for 19 players, as well as those by Jenna Cave and other composers.

These long-time musical colleagues will present a rare duo performance of a collection of originals alongside melodies from the late-romantic era. These musical gems are reimagined for a contemporary jazz setting.
Loretta Palmeiro is an accomplished saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist. Andrew Scott is a busy young performer who is equally at home behind an accordion or in the studio composing and producing music for film.
